Instead of uninstalling your anti-virus program, you should've went into Safe Mode and deleted the trojans... I guess you can install the software again and remove them still...
damn...seems that my computer has trojans. i dont really know much about them. this is the first time my computer has actually ever had a virus. i guess our virus detector thing isolated the trojans which forced them into defense mode which didnt allow us to log on to our usernames. we got around that by loading the computer in "safe mode" and then removing the virus detector so that we could at least log on to our accounts. however, now this means that these trojans are just chilling eating away at our computer!!
now, my dad is on top of the situation, but i dont really trust his methods all the time since he immeadietly shifts the blame to other people. suddenly because i had administrative rights, im the one who got the viruses. now i am extremely careful when it comes to downloading shit, so i really dont know how we got it. but who got it isnt important, its how to get rid of it right.
so anyways, if you've got any reccomendations as to what my next step should be please fill me in. im hesitant to download "trojan fighting programs" because i dont know if they are just trojans themselves. i really dont know very much. so any help is needed.
oh and these are the notes my dad wrote down on a paper about the trojans, in case this information is important.

hmmm, i have a feeling my dad might have tried that, because that does seem more logical than deleating the virus fighting program thing...
i will have to ask him about that, if thats the case then thatll be a burn on my dad for thinking he "saved the day".
i dunno i think it all stems from mozilla...cuz even though explorer is supposed to be the most vulnerable of all, we never had any problems. mozilla times out all the time and randomly decides this site is just not going to work today.

Well, I use AVG and it's wonderful. Plus, download Ad-Aware and Spy-Blaster. And Spybot -Search & Destroy. I don't have links for these, sorry.
Then I recommend you go to this site, if possible, and scan your PC.
Good luck with the trojans. I know they are quite pesky :/

well i use the panda antivirus titanium 2004 and it's really skillful with trojans, it might help.
Or you can try eTrust Antivirus. It's quite widely used by system administrators, besides Sophos.

If Internet is accessible then go there, if not (because of the virus) go there on your Safe Mode.
Go to google and type in 'Panda Online' go to the first one, I believe. There it will give you a free Virus Scan (VERY EFFECTIVE) you do not have to download nothing what-so-ever. Click on the 'free scan' button.They ask for your e-mail just incase any viruses are lurking there.Pick your country and province.
Click on hard drive when it's done checking and wait till it fully scans your PC. It will get rid of anything evil on your computer! ^^ Now be happy and smile as it seeks out the evil trojans and when it is done, laugh evilly at shameful trojans!
yeah, it's true, the panda is very effective, but it took ages for me to scan my computer, but go and try it!!
*grins* Aikasan speaks the truth! ^_~ It really depends on your computers speed but hey, you could just browse through the internet while it's scanning your PC (as long as the Panda Online scan window isn't closed) so you won't even notice that your PC is being scanned! [img]biggrin.gif[/img] Hope you read this before the trojans kill your computer to death! >_<
